LCCC to Offer Customer Service Job Training Diploma Program
Jan. 17, 2008Lehigh Carbon Community College will offer an intensive 210-hour Customer Service Job Training Diploma Program from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, March 24 to May 21, at its Donley Center, 718 Hamilton St., Allentown.
According to the Lehigh Valley Job and Labor Market Outlook, customer service occupations are in demand. These positions include customer service administrators,
customer service representatives, and telemarketing representatives.
Participants in the Customer Service Job Training Diploma Program will:
- Learn to operate various office machines;
- Acquire computer skills;
- Receive instruction on proper techniques used in fields such as banking
- (entry-level positions), call centers, and hospitality services;
- Prepare to seek employment with companies that use call centers, such as utilities, credit card companies, insurance companies, and banks;
- Qualify for employment with service organizations, such as hotels, caterers, travel agencies, hospitals, and employment agencies; and
- Become proficient in many areas of office procedures and customer service techniques.
Course content includes assessment evaluation/exploration; communication skills; introduction to the use of Microsoft software; keyboarding; basic skills; data entry; filing introduction; Internet introduction; e-mail introduction; job search skills/development; work-based learning opportunity; and introduction to the use of the fax machines and copiers.
Fee of $973 includes textbook. Tuition assistance is available, and the program is free to eligible students.
