Lehigh Carbon Community College will hold two noncredit classes in Boating Safety Education Certification. Required since the year 2000, all personal watercraft (PWC) are required to have certification to use Commonwealth waters.

Certification from these PA Fish and Boating Commission courses is obtained upon completion of the course and exam. The minimum age of registrants is 11 years.

Basic Boating Certification is developed for PA's recreational power boaters or anyone interested in boating safety. The course fee is $65. Course content includes: Legal Requirements, Boat Operations, Safety and Rescue, etc. The following courses will be offered this semester at LCCC's Schnecksville campus.

Course #REC 526-50 Sat., April 19 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Course #REC 526-51 Sat., May 17 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Class size in these courses is limited, and seats are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
