Lehigh Carbon Community Colleges Donley Center in Allentown will offer a Teacher's Assistant Aide diploma program for the Fall and Spring semesters. This 150 hour short-term job training program offers classroom instruction and hands-on training in a working classroom. While emphasizing principles of providing a safe and nurturing instructional environment for children, instructional and clerical support for classroom teachers as well as reviewing and reinforcement of classroom lessons, students will become familiar with computer applications, communication, attentive listening and problem solving skills. Graduates will qualify for entry-level positions as teacher's assistants/aides.

Classes meet Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. There is an additional cost for textbooks. A High School diploma or GED is required. Select from either of the following dates:

Fall 2008: Nov. 27 2008 through Feb. 13, 2009

Spring 2009: March 2 through May 11, 2009
