Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) marked the grand opening of its Rothrock Library with a celebratory event from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 27, on the college's main campus, Route 309, Schnecksville. A ribbon cutting ceremony took place at 6:15 p.m.
Named in memory of Debra Ann Rothrock-Chiaradia, the library was made possible by the generous donation of Bruce Sr. and Velia Rothrock and family.
The cutting-edge facility boasts a wide variety of features and amenities for both student learning and comfort, including computer workstations; wireless Internet access; a high-tech classroom outfitted with built-in presentation software and desks with flip-up computer screens; a viewing room with a plasma TV; clustered learning pods for collaboration; several collaborative work rooms, classrooms, and conference rooms; a TV lounge; and the first-floor Foundation and Alumni Conference Center for use by community organizations.
