Lehigh Carbon Community College's Donley Center in Allentown willoffer the following short-term day training program this semester.Interested individuals may qualify for tuition assistance for theseprograms. All students must meet with program coordinator prior toregistration.
Maintenance Assistant Skills Training Diploma will provide astrong foundation in electrical; mechanical; and heating, ventilation,air conditioning (HVAC) and refrigeration systems as well as concepts,theories, and practical hands-on skills for performing maintenanceunder the supervision of a maintenance technician or director of plantmaintenance. This 250-hour course covers basic industrial math andmeasurement; fundamentals of electricity, including safety, AC/DCcircuit operation and analysis; meter usage; schematics and circuitcomponents operation; computer components; keyboarding and Windows.
Classes will be held Mon. through Thurs., 6 to 9 p.m. and Sat. from8 am to 12 noon, Feb. 4 through May 27. Course fee is $950; textbooksnot included.
