Individuals ages 17 to 21 with a high school diploma or GED areinvited to apply to a free Pharmacy Technician Program offered througha partnership of Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC), Lehigh ValleyPrivate Industry Council (PIC), and CVS Pharmacy. Twelve students willbe chosen for this career shadowing/internship opportunity.

The 19-week program will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondaysthrough Fridays, beginning Jan. 14, 2008, at various CVS Pharmacylocations near students' homes. Free private tutors are available, aswell as job shadowing and internships. At program's end, participantswill take a free Pharmacy Technician certification exam.

The purpose of the program is to introduce students to thehealthcare industry and to encourage their pursuit of further educationin the field. One of the fastest growing in Pennsylvania, the pharmacytechnician occupation promises exceptional job opportunities.
