Job Title: Title III and Planning & Assessment Secretary *

Classification: Secretary/Office Assistant - Full Time

Work Schedule: 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Pay Rate: $10.85 to $13.71 per hour

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Summary

Responsible for providing clerical and administrative support for the Title III grant. This position ends with the termination of the grant. Reports to the associate dean of planning and assessment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintains programmatic and financial grant records.
  • Assists with monitoring the grant budget and expenditures.
  • Assists with project purchasing.
  • Assists project personnel with clerical and administrative tasks associated with assessment, planning, learning communities, faculty development.
  • Tracks project implementation and assists with the preparation of internal and external progress reports.
  • Records and distributes the minutes of the Title III Steering Committee, Learning Community Task Force, Assessment Council, and Leadership Team meetings.
  • Assists with communication via a website and newsletter.
  • Makes meeting and travel arrangements for project personnel and external consultants.
  • Serves as the receptionist for the Title III project.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma required; associate degree preferred. Ability to maintain accurate and detailed financial and programmatic records. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access). Ability to learn SCT Banner, and assessment/planning tracking software such as TracDat.. Must possess a high level of the following work skills and behaviors; teamwork/cooperation; initiative, customer services, and commitment to continuous professional growth in skills and knowledge.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

* Contingent upon federal grant funding through September 30, 2009. Thereafter, this position will be institutionalized and funded through the LCCC operating budget.
