Job Title: Infrastructure Support Supervisor

Work Schedule: Full-time

Annual Salary: $45,364 to $61,800

FLSA Status: Exempt

Summary

Generally responsible for installation, configuration, management and support of the institution's logical LAN/WAN network and security infrastructure. Directly responsible for the management and maintenance of the institution's IP-based infrastructure (DNS, DHCP and Active Directory domain administration). Responsible for safeguarding the institution's data and communications systems. Responsible for tier two support for PC Support group and general support for the LCCC IT Organization's annual goals and objectives. Reports directly to the Director of Telecommunication and Support Services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Installation, update and management of the institution's Active Directory domain infrastructure components.
  • Design, rollout and management of the institution's Active Directory logical and physical infrastructure.
  • Installation, support, rollout and ongoing management of the institution's anti-virus tools and infrastructure. Responsible for timely and effective deployment of both server and PC client portions of the college's standard anti-virus products.
  • Installation, update, maintenance and ongoing management of the institution's Windows System Update Server environment. Monthly review and testing of Microsoft product updates and release of appropriate updates/patches to the LCCC operating environment.
  • Management of the institution's IP addressing scheme via effective assignment of static and dynamic IP addresses. Responsible for the installation, support and on-going management of the college's DHCP logical and physical environment.
  • Management and support of the institution's Checkpoint and Netscreen firewall environments. Logical administration of the firewall rules and DMZ access logic. Acts as troubleshooting resource with respect to inbound and outbound firewall traffic related issues.
  • Installation, configuration and management of the institution's wireless network infrastructure.
  • Responsible for safeguarding institution data and communications systems.
  • Completes research on products, updates, and technical support through the Internet, vendors, and outside resources.
  • Develops and maintains an operational manual for this position.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred, Associate's degree with Novell, Windows or corresponding network certification required. Minimum of three years prior experience as an infrastructure supervisor or network supervisor required. Customer service orientation required. Prior experience with Novell and Windows network operating systems, 3COM network gear, Active Directory (design and administration), DHCP, Wireless network deployment and management, Symantec Anti-virus and Checkpoint firewall products preferred. Familiarity with the post-secondary educational environment a plus. Ability to function as a team member required. Experience in troubleshooting network throughput issues and resolving network performance problems preferred. Must possess a high level of the following work skills and behaviors: teamwork/cooperation, initiative, customer service and commitment to continuous professional growth in skills and knowledge.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. This position will be required to work evening and weekend hours as the need arises.
