ABE/GED and ESL Instructors
Part-Time ABE/GED and ESL Instructor/s needed at LCCC Community Locations
4-8 hours a week
Duties include:
- Perform ABE/GED and/or ESL classroom instruction while integrating workplace and group skills as appropriate to clients goals
- Counsels and advises students on an as-needed basis, recommending modifications in instruction where appropriate.
- Prescribes appropriate methods and resources.
- Provides linkage for students to progress from one education program to another.
- Administers and monitors standardized testing for assessment.
- Tracks student progress, keeps statistical information, produces reports.
- Plans teaching strategies and activities that are appropriate for adults.
- Maintains a portfolio of work on each student.
- Completes paperwork as required
- Conducts follow-ups on poor student attendance by phone calls or letters.
- Motivates and encourages students.
- Produces student and/or class reports on an as needed basis.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Coordinator and Director.
Qualifications
Bachelor's in appropriate field required. Experience in working with nontraditional students. Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and to work cooperatively in stressful situations.
